Office Furniture - Making it match

So simple, choosing office furniture; buy lots of items that look good, throw them together and the office is complete, right?

No.

Getting colours to match is a crucial part of interior design, we all know reds and greens look completely awful together, when it comes to wood finishes on office desks and storage and seating fabrics on office chairs bad matches may be more subtle, but they still exist.

Take the grey finish found on many office desks for example. Looks great, but put in some office chairs with a purple or violet fabric finish and suddenly it looks about as attractive as baby sick! And it doesn’t stop there.

Most wood finishes are various shades of brown. Well let me assure you that even the most beautiful office chairs in the world finished in a red will look absolutely awful when put together with an office desk finished in beech.

So how to avoid a disaster? Well you could refer to the favour wheel of colour by Newton. Alternatively just use a little foresight and get second opinions. Most mistakes made with regards to colour matching would have been obvious had they been discussed. It’s not the end of the world, but when you just forked out 50K one a 150 person office you would like to think that it looks the best it possibly could.
